does anyone know how to remove sealent

hi im trying to remove without damageing paintwork sealent and remains off duct tape that was used has temp repire when s/roof was damaged and also to stop it leaking ? hope you experts no how it a right mess cheers john

Or just a bit of nail polish remover.
DOes the job every time, but I think Maplins sell a specific "sticky stuff" remover.

Regular white spirit will shift the glue residue without attacking the paint, but not much will touch silicone (assuming it's silicone) sealant. You can get silicone sealant remover from DIY shops, but I have no idea what this would do to the paint.
I would avoid any solvent based chemicals (thinners, acetone etc), as they WILL attack the paint.

Zippo lighter fluid (or simalar) works, not sure about effects of repeated use but i have used it in the past to remove various glue residue
