I bought some meguiars gold class wash and wax car care kit. It comprises of gold class shampoo and clear coat liquid car wax. When i wash the car and dry it, should i apply some sort of polish before i wax it? I am not sure what sort of routine i should get into to keep my car in showroom condition......any advice?

With that kit you just wash and wax so to speak.
If you are polishing the car do it before putting any wax on.

Here is a brilliant site for detailing your car:

If you are happy that its in good nick, just wax it.

If you put you hand in a clean thin plastic bag (like a sandwich bag type thing), and run your fingers over the paint without feeling any lumps or bumps or grittiness, it doesn't need claying.
