I've taken my style 5's off for the winter

and given one a clean down and applied some meguiars wheel polish.

Now although it is alot cleaner/shinier it still looks like it's not quite clean, especially around the bolts (bloody nightmare :( )

I was wondering if anyone ( c76 jon in particular) could give me some tips of how to get all them looking like new.

Cheers.

if theyre off the car, and you dont need them in a hurry you're probably best off taking the bolts out and knocking out the centres so you can polish the whole rim nice and easily.

just be carefull about torquing and threadlocking the bolts when you reassemble

now, i might be wrong, but i thought the style 5s were different to other 2 piece wheels and that the drum is one part, and the centre is a flat disk which can be seperated :?

otherwise, you can drop the air pressure right down, and take out the bolts other than the ones at 12,3,6 and 9 o'clock, polish what you can, then put in bolts at 1:30, 4:30, 7:30 and 10:30 so you can take out the bolts you left in before and polish around those.

quite a lot of work and messing, but cant say how else you'd be able to clean and polish close to the bolts :-x

i've got a set of the wheels coming for mine next week, so i've got all this fun to come
