ive posted already on another section ( just noticed this section)

i bought my E30 4 weeks ago looking rather pink

OK looking "very pink!"
well seen as this is the right section i thought i'd show off my work on bringing life back to the paint work
how i did it
a good ole wash by hand then jet washed all the hard to get bit's.
plenty of T-cut i think i did it about 6 time's with T-cut
then a further twice with a mix of T-cut and cheap polish, this is a good way of removing all the stubbern areas that the T-cut won't move from.
a rub down with tar remover.
to bring a shine to it i used MGUIRES quick wax 2 or 3 time's, then MGUIRES Carnauba wax to help lock in my hard work
all in i used 3 bottles of T-cut, one full bottle of MGuires quick wax and a tube of Auto Solve on the chrome.
ive still to shine up the alloy's if they'll shine up!!
but the end result (so far) was well worth the hours of hard rubbing

Fair play to you mate, that is a LOT of effort I can't be arsed to spend as much time as that doing mine

Keep waxing it man. Protect that paint and keep it out of the sun. My dad's old red car used to turn back to pink in no time.

Those chrome arches rather spoil the originality of the car. You could take them off or paint over them.

Looks great anyway and reminds me of my old E reg red E30

in a strange kinda of way of thinking you could say the arches are original as they where factory fitted when new, ive had the arches of and the body behind them is mint/solid but it has been coated in Hammerite ... once it's lowered and ive got a set of black BBS alloy's on it it'll look better

It looks good as it is. Doubt the chrome arches were a factory option though. (Although I'm just guessing. The hammerite behind them would confirm that for me.)

And with black bbs it'll look great

BMW did not fit chrome arches @ the factory...

Looks like you have put in lots of hard work, well done.

Hope your paint stays red too! my old 323i used to change colour every time the sun came out

maybe not factory fitted, but they where fitted by the dealer before the first owner collected the car ive a note of request with the heading "Customers request Order" : mat's, mud flap's and chrome arches
and i forgot to add that only the front arches have hamerite paint on them the rear's are spotless

just thought i'd show off it's shine again, seen as i spent most of today polishing and buffing also fitting a new battery
both my other car's can be seen in the reflection


i also treated our wee "flip painted" Mitsy Colt to the same treatment
