Have just fitted brand new (well fully re-conditioned) split-rims to the blue car and need to know how best to care for them inorder to prevent them oxidising and the like. Have seen s-r's with rusted bolts, for example.

One idea is to spray a wax based product (such as WaxOil) around the bases of the bolts to prevent dirt getting in around the bases from which corrosion can develop. Any comments on this and further helpful suggestions will be much appreciated.

i used to have a set of splits. i found that twice a week a spray and wipe with WD 40 kept them like new. they still looked brand new after a second winter. a fair bit of effort but it done the job
