i recently bought a 318is the engine wasnt runnin very well so i got it cheap. what caught my eye was the black leather seats
they are the cheap ones not the recaros.
on the drivers seat where they usualy wear, you can see red.
after closer inspection it looks like the seats were red leather and have been painted black. not recently but a long time ago.
so i went to my bodyshop and they said that it is not uncommon to paint leather. using a cellulose paint.
the reason they said the paint doesnt crack is because you keep rubbing leather cream into it every so often to feed the paint.
has anybody else heard of this?
i want to do something with my leather coz the drivers seat looks shite
but i dont want to strip the paint of and have red leather seats, that will look shite also
what should i do?????
Painted Leather????
