Does anyone think the link below looks any good, I have looked at Liquid Leather and just wondered if this is just as good..??

Any thoughts.. my interior needs a bit of a re-colur as it has faded and usual bolster scuffs..

hi
this kit looks very similar to the liquid leather scuff master kit

ive used the scuff master and they are brilliant

all i would say is check with them one thing

not only do you need to match the colour you also need to match the finish

ie shiny,matt etc

the scuff master kit has a pot of gloss enhancer that you mix with the last coat you apply
you add more for shiny less for matt to achieve what finish you already have

iam not saying its not with the kit just worth checking imho as a really matt repaired area will stand out if your leather is very shiny

oh and fwiw do send a sample of your leather off to have it matched even if you are tempted just to get black because thats what you have

there are loads of different shades of black or grey and the repair will be so much better if your dye is spot on to start with

Back to Jon's comment on what type of finish the e-nbay stuff gives. i got this from the seller...

Hi, the standard kit on sale has a satin finish, we can supply a matt or gloss finishing spray these cost £25.00, with the standard kit you simply wipe the colour on with a sponge and the final result is very effective, if your seats are black we can supply a black restoration spray in a gloss finish instead of the bottled version, but the extra cost would be £10.00, but still very cost effective to restore your car seats, either way there will be enough to do your seats...regards Jackie

Is it worth just going with Liquid leather or does that give a satin finish as well.??

i can tell you that the liq leather kit(scuffmaster) comes with sponges
dye which is EXACT match to your leather if you have sent him a sample and a small bottle of gloss enhancer in each kit

this allows you to exactly match the finish

there is no way those people can get the finish exact without seeing your leather so you may go for satin and its wrong
you may go for gloss and thats wrong
this is largely due to wear on the rest of you seats if you are panel repairing

the scuffmaster kit will fill nicks and scratches and creases by using dye in its thick form

its water soluble so you add water to it to cover minor scuffs

then final coat is done with dye watered down plus gloss enhancer
if you do it too matt with that coat just add a little more gloss enhancer and wipe over again
its really easy

just like anything
the longer you take the better the results

a mate of mine has just done his audi convertible with glyptone ...he bought the whole kit including spray gun and was extatic with the results on beige seats..his only complaint was that the spray guns were naff and he used one compressor powered instead,.....it did take him 3 days with the seats out and the prep work is the bit that counts

As mine is a Cab, the leather has become a bit faded and the usual bolster "rubbing", I'm just after something i can go over all the seats to bring back the colour with the minimum of effort.

I'm thinking of going the Liquid Leather route as it is more value for money...
