Hello
I have taken the front valence off, removed the surface rust and primed it. Rather than just respray in straight paint I would like to use the painted rubbery stuff that the sills are painted with. Anyone know what this stuff is called? Can I paint body colour over it?

Don't know what brands you have down under but it is known as "stonechip" generally put on with a shutz gun (bit of practice needed to replicate factory finish) . It can be overpainted when cured. Not to be confused with Shutz that is the oil-based black underseal that cannot be overpainted.

There are now better 2-pack products around like that made by 3M which are tougher when cured

Bit of discussion about it here
