Hello

Iv got a E30 coupe on a 90' plate.

The colour is Brilliant rot and the original paintwork is mint, but im converting the body to a genuine m3 with all steel panels including the original steel roof extention piece w/ bootlid.

Work will start soon on the transformation just wondered if anyone could give me a rough idea of how much it'll cost to respray the exterior in its original colour, brilliant rot?

Any info will be great.

Thanks![/img]

Just for paintwork, none of the pannel work included factor on 3-4k for a very good job, £1500 will get you a blowover with waterbased piss that will most likely have issues within a year of the job,

Piece of advice for you, keep your car as is if its a minter, buy a non sunroof prefacelift car as to sort the rot on this you would need to replace all the pannels you would be buying to make a proper M3 replica anyway.

HTH :)

You are going to be making a rep and are asking about spraying prices..?! Do you even have any idea about the work involved...?! Especially starting with a post facelift base. 8O

A paint job not including bodywork/dents will cost sub £1000

its getting dents out and panels straight that costs time

Sounds like your doing the work just unable to spray ?

Hello

Thanks for the comments.

NIKO - Thanks that's what i was roughly hoping for around that.

GOOSIEGANDER - The reason im using my 90' instead of buying a pre face lift is because when done im going for the Evo II look in brilliant rot.

JHONNO - Yes i'm more than aware of the work involved for the job. Theirs no fiberglass being used whatsoever on this. apart from the genuine boot lid.

I have the roof extention piece from a E30 M3 from a nice chap off here which is the hard part, have both front wings now, rear quarters along with bumpers and everything else will be brand new from BMW then its just welding and fitting.

This wont be a £3000 and all sprayed' finished job like most replicas, its being done properly.

The work is being done by professionals, im just supplying everything.

ALEX - I just wanted an idea that's all of what it may cost for a respray in My original color as i haven't got as far as a quote for paint yet as its a long way off.

Thanks

A prefacelift would have been a much better starting point.. Paint could be 500 could be 4000 depends who and where does it.

I love my color though and the mileage is low and the cars very clean, plus iv just had a new dark grey M3 checkered interior in it so it seems the better starting point to me.

The company who's doing the work, are doing the rear light panel conversion too so it will look proper.

Theres one on Pistonheads for £5.5k that's been done on a facelift like mine but he has used a few fiberglass bits and hasnt done the rear light panel.

Apart from that looks the dogs bits!

yeh i considered that at the start but i want a right hand drive car and most E30 m3s for under £12k need an engine refresh anyway or some minor bodywork, this way i get to spec the car how i want it.

Plus im going for the Evo II look..
