I figure a respray is the only way. Because the sound proofing is flaking on the inside shall i just sand blast the mofo? Can get a firm to do this for 30 notes i think.
Would also consider refitting without sound proofing - is it needed?
Cheers

Don't think it would do any harm. Nice new sound-proofing is only about 30 quid from BMW and really freshens up the look of things in there. Getting the old glue off is an utter pita though!bpowell555 wrote:Would also consider refitting without sound proofing - is it needed?

If the stonechips are that bad it's going to need a visit to a bodyshop anyway unless you have access to spraying equipment. All it will require is rubbing down, feather out the chips, fill any dents, etch prime any bare metal, high build, base coat, lacquer. The best substrate for new paint is old sound paint or E-Coat, we in the body repair industry don't like bare metal.
