Bonnet respray - sand blast?

Peedo'd the bonnet with a clay bar and polish and though it looks better its chipped to fook, plus apparently someone parked it in a room when they were rollering a ceiling in white paint

I figure a respray is the only way. Because the sound proofing is flaking on the inside shall i just sand blast the mofo? Can get a firm to do this for 30 notes i think.

Would also consider refitting without sound proofing - is it needed?

Don't think it would do any harm. Nice new sound-proofing is only about 30 quid from BMW and really freshens up the look of things in there. Getting the old glue off is an utter pita though!

use brake cleaner to get the old glue off

but do not sand blast the bonnet. stone chips only need a bit of stopper skimmed over them. sand blasting will cause damage and require more prep work before paint

Get it dipped, easier and about the same money

i'd recommend you: flatten the paint, etch primer it, flatten it again then top coat it... don't go near it with a sand blaster.

If the stonechips are that bad it's going to need a visit to a bodyshop anyway unless you have access to spraying equipment. All it will require is rubbing down, feather out the chips, fill any dents, etch prime any bare metal, high build, base coat, lacquer. The best substrate for new paint is old sound paint or E-Coat, we in the body repair industry don't like bare metal.

Don't sand blast it, will make more work for yourself. Flat sand, etch primer for bare metal as said, sand again with a fine grit paper then a body fill primer. Again sand down then you can go onto applying a base coat
