only ever had a cheapo halfords thing to myself but used a few others, can you recommend a cheapish one to invest in?
seen this but not sure if it'll be too cheap and nasty?

Have you got a angle grinder? Why not buy a descent kit to fit to that? Thats a future investment formyself, got a nice dewalt grinder that I dont use for work anymore so might aswell get some use out of it... Obviously it hs one speed, but be careful with pressure...

Silverline stuff is the worst quality ever. But if your only going to use it once it doesn't matter too much.

Have a look through polished bliss they have a lot of info and products. http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog ... -type.html
But I would defiantly recomend getting a variable speed one it's best to start off slow and steady. Othewise you will find yourself burning off the paint on the edges!

With a no load speed of 6000 rpm you'll rip through paint in seconds, regardless of how careful you are, a polisher should have variable speed control and will normally max out at around 3000rpm, I seldom ever use this speed as most polishes will break down before this, at angle grinder speeds polish will turn to dust in seconds. Use the correct tool for the job, it will save a lot of heart ache.
