Question is, and I hope no one hates me for this... do I smooth off on the doors where the black side strips used to be or will it look funny? I dont like the bump strips on it plus it a 4 door so I wanted to go for clean lines, Mtec 2 front and rear with a subtle skirt?? Opinions please?

Sounds horrid, either put the whole Tec 2 kit on including doors trims and skirts or don't put any of it on, it will just make the car look like it's half finished, I think you'll regret smoothing the doors and getting rid of the trim, there is a swage line on that part of the door, the trim sits niceley against it and flows in niceley with the black inserts on the bumpers. Of course this is all only my opinion, I too have a moredoor, my personal favourite combo is and IS lip and SE skirts with a de spoilered boot lid.
