whats the best way to clean your engine bay

i wented to spend a good 2 or 3 days really detailing the engine bay, anyone have any tips, advice, product advice anything like that??

Cover all the electrics in plastic bags or something water proof, then spray degreaser liberally around the engine bay then power hose it, that simple. If it doesn't start after you let something get wet that shouldn't have.

As above really.
TFR, Glymms Engine cleaner, etc and a toothbrush for
the small hard to reach parts. Warm the engine up first and let whatever
product you use really soak in. Personally, i,d use a garden hose to rinse
down after, but that might be something to do with the fact that i don,t own
a Power hose.

No you warm up the engine - I use gunk to spray on then start up and powerwash off, tcut and polish for inner wings?

I found the old dirt/grease came off much easier with a warm engine, not hot though.

I can't comment as I only done a fw engine bays, those were on new cars..

I will be doing my IS next week - got a little steam cleaner to help.

Gunk and a power washer. Work the gunk into the greasy/oily areas with a stiff bristled handheld brush. Simples.
