Protecting new alloys

Hi,

Not a section I have posted in before, but I have bought some brand new 15" BBS alloys and was wondering if there was something to put on them before they inevitably get covered in mess?

Is there some sort of 'wheel wax' which will make them easier to clean in the future/stop crud build up? Is ordinary car body wax the stuff to use?

rim wax is what i use on all my alloys, its in a blue tin with silver lid. very good and if you build up a few layers over a couple of days before you fit them it is very easy to get crap off in the future and then carry on addind more wax.

I tried a few different supposed alloy wheel protector on my BBS's when they where fitted. There a bugger to keep clean as we all know, i didnt really find anything that worked that well, best way i for me was a little TFR and to give them a weekly pressure wash.

Thanks, I will get some rim wax or similar then. First thing I have bought that isn't plain halfords car shampoo!

Try fk1000p before rim wax.

You can use fk1000p on all paint, massive tin, lasts ages.

Once wheels are clean and protected, a weekly wash with shampoo should be good enough.

To be honest I have been so busy recently that I did not use anything on them, and fitted nice new wheels unprotected so I could get clocking up the miles.

I will try some sort of wax in the summer.
