Polishing a car and carpet Q.

When polishing a car are you ment to like wash it then dry it with the chamois cloth then polish it?
I usually just wash my car let sun dry it then polish but its not exactly doing anything?

My car hardly moves and it kinda smells like stale if you know what i mean what should I use in it ?
Shake and vac?

Wash, dry, polish (or if you dont want to remove paint) wax.

Try baking soda in a tupperware tub under the seats to remove the smell, good clean with AutoGlym APC and that should do a decent job.

(taking for granted you have sponge, mfs etc)

Bad move, never let a car dry in the sun as you will end up with all manner of spots and marks on the paint (water drops act like little magnifying glasses)

polish will not remove paint, not unless its an abrasive one like 3m's fast cut plus

i'd advise anyone to have light application of polish to the paint before and LSP

LSP is last stage protection, such as a wax or a sealant. the off teh shelf sealant thats commonly availabel is autoglyms extra gloss protection

ALL polishes remove paint, hence the name of it.

SRP is a polish, and it removes paint.

TCut is a polish, and its very good at removing paint.

3M Fast Cut is an agressive compound, best results via rotary but will leave holograms on alot of paints. So it then needs to be followed with something else like 3M Ultrafina (which again is a polish).

EGP is a sealant that, in my use anyway, dosnt like wet/damp weather and leaves smears.

I've found that to be the case too - better left for warm dry days.

SRP used with rotary will almost never do any damage to paint, it contains a lot of fillers wigh hide fine scratches eg swirls, buy hand you will never do any damage. but

to prove point to a friend i used it with rotary on car of mine. had it sat on one placee for about 5 mins, no damage done. never mesured it to see how much if nay paint was removed

with the right technique you wont get many holograms using fast but pluss but you ill need to refine the pannel with ultra fina imo

T cut is vile stuff

EGP, the common error is that people use too much and it smears and is also hard work to take off.
