hey all. after much pondering i fanally decided to get the guy who washes the car to clean the engine bay.........but the numpty used a jet wash on the sponge on the underside of the bonnet and pretty much ripped it apart..
(i knew i should've cleaned it myself!)

Just slightly off topic, where did you get the deadening sponge from?

i bought mine from my friendly bmw local main dealer...was £34ish + vat and was delivered the same day....which isnt too bad i reckon....as my motor is totally standard, i wanted the real deal, but the others sihooker's link leads to dont look bad either.

The stuff for mine (in the link) came from Pelican Parts in Caifornia. Think it was about US$60 plus delivery (in a box with lots of other parts)
It is kind of cellular look - a bit different to the original stuff but looks the goods
Should have bonnet back on car this weekend after a few weeks or engine bay detailing, light replacement, etc
