Hi guys had a local guy who does touch ups/dent repair come down and remove a dent in my rear quater and have it resprayed to the correct colour of the car, which is sebring grey.

Hes done the dent removal process good however he used rattle cans to spray the quater panel and to my suprise its a diffrent colour to the door and rear boot. I know its the right paint code as I had the colour mixed in 2 cans from 2 diffrent places.

So could it be that hes spraying it out of a can that the shades darker? The colour seems dark and has to many shiny flakes. :cry:

Not shaking the cans sufficiently? If the paint isn't mixed properly then it will be uneven and it will give quite a different coloured finish... :cry:

From what I saw he was shaking the can alot but would there be a diffrence in paint gun spray and rattle can spray? Or can the same finish be achieved with the rattle cans.

Your original paint is old, and will have been subjected to a degree of UV damage over the years, whereas the new paint has not. Chances are that the colour he has used is absolutely correct, it's just that over time the original paint on the car has faded a bit.

you will never get a good gun finish out of a can and silver is the worst colour to paint ever if you dont no what your doing it can dry patchy have tiger strips the lot

any good painter should of painted your quarter and blended into the door and bootlid to loose the coulor not just the 1 panel edge to edge to much of a job with a can cans are only good for a small blow in painting the panel with a can wich is 1k can know cause a problem to rectifie this problem as fresh basecoat or similer can cause the paint to pickle up or the silver not to sit properly metalic standing up etc etc
