My chrome trim around the windows is looking a bit dull and corroded, and wing mirrors grey rather than black. Is there anything I can do to either to bring them back to their original look?

For the chrome - chrome/metal polish and plenty of elbow grease

For the wing wirrors - plenty of 'back to black' products out there which work, some more than others. Someone once mentioned 'baby oil' as an alternative - never tried it myself though!

The chrome trims around the windows are pretty cheap and easy to replace with new ones - they make a huge difference. I got a set from Pelican Parts (USA) for about US$30 but you would probably be better with your local BMW dealer or one of the sellers on this site.
You will need a special tool to replace them or grapple with a couple of screw drivers and risk damaged glass / bodywork / rubber. The tool is only a few quid and makes it a 10min job to do both windows. You will also need to replace the little chrome covers (2x corners on back and single middle on front) as they are pretty hard to remove without damaging. They only cost few dollars.
Meguires or Armourall type products will sort out the mirrors in some cases or you could colour code them or get a new 'old' set. Again, plenty of that sort of stuff sold on this site.
