Removing Crap from dashboard

before my car went away i cleaned the dash with cheapo back to black which left the dash all sticky and turned it white and faded, now the car is back and has had the shit on everything for over 8 weeks. ive tryed cleaning it again with a better product but cannot shift the stuff.

will loads of warm soapy water and a scrubbing brush do the job???

any tips????

I would use an All purpose cleaner diluted down 10 parts water 1 part cleaner, spray on and agitate with a paintbrush and wipe away with a microfibre cloth, should do the trick

Meths or lighter fluid, removes sticky residue left by stickers. Could well work again!

I think overall the all purpose cleaner route is probably safer

True, but the nature of meths/lighter fluid provided you ventilated the car well enough, it would evaporatewithout an issue.

Eitherway was just a thought!

apc all the way. either megs or poorboys. then once clean follow up with the soapy water and then get hold of poorboys natural look dressing, about £8 - £10 a bottle iirc. apply liberally, leave to soak for a few hours and then take off excess. do this a couple of times and then one final coat and wipe off any excess straight away. gives a superb factory finish, semi matt look. it's not sticky either.

can be bought from all sorts of places on line fella. www.polishedbliss.co.uk and www.elitecarcare.co.uk for example. be tough on yourself though. soon adds up on detailing stuff. my kit stands me in at about £2.5k now!
