lube for claying

hi im going to clay my car in the next few days i used the meguires clay and lube last time i've got one bar left and only a bit of lube can i just buy another bottle or is there anything else i can use? only asking cause it all came together im not sure if you can buy it seperatly thanks!

There are a couple of options.

1. Pop to your local car shop and grab a bottle of Megs Quik detailer. That is the same product that they supply with the clay.

2. Use a solution of shampoo & water (some clays do not like this though, the clay may well fall apart)

3. Order a bottle of Megs Last touch from www.cleanyourcar.co.uk < By far the best option as it's cheaper than the equivalent retail QD and you can dilute 1:1 with deionised water when using it for a freshen up. Must use neat when claying to maintain its lubricity.

Dave, you don't need to use it neat when claying, diluted 50% is fine. And to be honest, www.carwashnwax.co.uk do their own which is just as good as the Megs Last Touch, and cheaper. They are also running a promotion until tomorrow for 10% off with a discount code of SEP10 at the checkout.

If you want more clay, get the yellow polyclay while you're at it - and that is one that is quite happy with a water/shampoo mix. As mentioned, that would tend to make the Megs clay crumble.

I generally dilute when claying but I always worry about recommending using it diluted. Just erring on the side of caution

Yellow poly clay is very good indeed, I am using the swissvax one at the moment and have been told it's essentially the same as Tim/David sells.

I'll try that QD as I'm very nearly out of last touch, any excuse to spend a few more quid.

Honestly, LT is fine at 50%, but David's stuff is even better. Also, used neat, it acts as a nice instant top up, great for show's, no rice, etc or even after washing the car.

And the yellow poly clay IS Paint Rubber - which is one reason I refuse to buy it from Swissvax when I'm ordering other gear.
