Hey all,

Well after 3 years of ownership, and dollars spent, my 318i is finally well sorted mechanically. Im looking to get it painted now, in its original calypso red.

Shell is sound with the only serious rust in the form of a hole just under the pillar between the bulkhead and where the D/S wing attaches.
I will want this sorted.

The D/S wing has a crease on the arch, the rest of the arches have very slight bubbles forming, the bonnet has pretty bad stone chipping, and i think a new one of these will be required. The only other bit of rust is just under the rubber seal for the rear window. The back doors have some parking style dents and creases that Ill also want ironing out, or the doors replaced.

Now heres the thing, I had a quote from a painters, who are excellent (had a mini or 2 painted there) but they are after 2500 quid for the job. That will be for a top drawer job of course, with the car being stripped out etc.

Any of you guys know a painter who can do it for me cheaper?

Cheers!

I also have a 97 Honda prelude that wants a respray in silver (once again its original colour) No rust at all on this one.

Is there soemone out there who will do me a deal for the pair of them?

Worrth an ask I reckon : )

Cheers

I went up to see John at AE coachworks yesterday, he has a white 4dr E30 in at the moment, looks like it's having a fair bit done, he also had a Mk3 golf on the go, an Austin atlantic for a full respray a VW bus and some massive American thing, seems like all his work at the moment is all resto work.

Yeah I know of a painter in Pompey (Hilsea), across the yard from a buddy of mine, does a top job. I'll get his details from my mate if you're still interested?
