once you wash your car it always lookds good, its not until you have clayed, ploshed and waxed that you see how big a difference it makes. wash - photo- detail- photo and you really are amazed at the difference.

I used to have a porsche, that took me 2.5 days to fully detail, inside and out. that was lots of hard work and the mrs was never too happy about it. lol.

the effort you put in you more than get back, the final result, the admiring glances from neighbours etc, the comments from random people.

Upon finishing my porsche, went to the petrol station to fill it up, some random person said wow, thats a really nice paint job, where did you get it done, i just told them the factory, when they looked closer they could tell even more how good a job i did.

nothing beats the satisfcation of standing back and looking at your own handywork once finished.

i agree !!! im up and ready to start again and hopefully finish it off today, quick wash of the sides then crack on, il take some pics and see if i can show the difference, i think the clay bar is a fantastic thing, what a difference it makes, was a bit hmmm £25 ,as its not cheap, but when you look at the results, it seems like a bargain now and so glad i got it

cant wait to stand back and look at it done and finished later today , and like you say- its a good feeling to stand and admire what youve done, and immense satisfacton

post some pics once its all done. I still need to take some photo's of mine but its still in a right state, filler in places being sanded down, paintwork is bad anyway, only so much i can do, just trying to put off a re-spray.

Got a few deep scratches (down to metal) and dents which i will be using an airbrush on to touch up the paintwork once the repairs are complete. got less time to do the work too now the F1 season is about to start, i don't miss a qualifying session or race all season.

you mean on tv or going there round the world ?

ive just finished n got in absoloutly shattered, took some pics but the suns gone down so not sure how they will look, going to finish it off tomorrow, still a couple of little things to do, but amazing results, very pleased with myself, and was just stood out the front of the house looking at it parked behind a 2 year old car, and it looked better and more shiney etc, i know the wax wil do that anyway, but it looks fantastic, got to to the front valance tomorrow and the wheels, fit fit tech 1 spoiler and is lip (ive just polished and waxed them and left in the garage) then im going to drive and enjoy it, and spend the weekend finding some nice locations and take a nice load of pics, hope its another nice day

all i need to do now, is sort out the shadow line gutter trimm, and the satin black bits in between the back of the door/rear window , needs to be re painted to look detail good, and then its moving on to the engine bay , want new hoses and the rocker and inlet all polished up nice, and a new spark plug cover bit, with that done and the re furbed wheels on (gold/polished lip bbs) , the car will be fabulous and a formidable 318is

took a pics of the stages aswell, not sure how they will come out, couldnt be bothered to do so on the 2nd side i just wanted to get it done , pics on way...

il say, ive done so much, not only the paint, but all the rubber, door rubber, the scuttle vents ive re painted and got like new, very pleased with myself 1st time ever using wet/dry/primer/spray, and the layering etc, learnt something new, they came out nice, just looking through the pics

also sorted a few interior bits, ,map mirror is in and working, it looks cool as absoloute ice in the dark with the lights on, really love the addition of that, rpm strut brace been fitted, made the ride that little bit better and stiffened it up-feels super, ive cleaned the interior spotless, needs some new floor mats aswell ,pondering rear seat hed rests and a blind parcel shelf aswell (theres always something lol) , pleased with the car, this is all on top of all the stuff i done last year , shes getting there

that car sat there patiently from 1st week of dec to 1st week of march, through all the snow and winter, un touched just the odd drive round the block to keep it ticking over, whilst i drove the trusty land rover, now shes getting the love and its the time of year shes been waiting for, i love my is

il go through the pics properly later as ive just gotta have a quick nap n get ready for work, il post some more and of the stages in a bit

this pic is quite good, shows how clean and clear and glass mirror like the paint has come up, shame its got the haggard heckspoiler and not the tech 1 on mind

few pics i quickly took just as i parked it back up n came in, il get some decent pics tomorow in the sunlight, its just pure reflection and mirror like its superbi love the eay the tree and clouds all reflect, its like a mirror !!!! always think the car shines better at night, when i go to work at 9pm it always looks its best i think, or when i get fuel and come out from paying and see it sat there

cheers mate, and thanks for the help and advice, all last year was spent sorting under neath and other bits, body looked nice enough but now its the detailing and trimm etc, all the shadow and gutter trimm and satin black is next , like door handles and the sections between the side glass etc

took the car up the hill yesterday to the meet, and it looked really nice and drew a bit of attention and lots of comments, made the few days spent working my arse off, well worthwhile, then took it for a nice run out down through the new forrest, took some pictures, il make a thread in photo gallery later or tomorrow and pic out some nice pics, the clarity of the paint and the shine, really is nice, with all the satin re-doing it will look stunning

i am doing the chrome trim at the moment, previous owner took a brush and a can of hamerite to it, almost finished removing one side, got the other to do, then prime and satin black, plus one of the mirror backing plates needs doing, plus filling and sanding at the moment.

Once that is done its rattle can gloss black time, luckily mine is metallic and i can get a pretty decent finish with rattle cans so once done, welding and mot time. then i will sort out the detailing. need a new rotary, last one blew up, literally.

i have looked in the meets section too, a few pics from the weekend on there.

I have so much work to do, rattle cans for large areas, but stone chips i am going to fill, sand and airbrush, easier to work with for small areas, get a few nice thin coats of paint on with and airbrush, easier to blend in the paint etc.
