well with z-aio coming into the uk market it might actually be a possibility for me to swith from meguiars to zaino.

I do high mileage in my car and i pass a quarry twice daily, also live in the country so crap along the side is a regular two as well as a good supply of cement in my alloys!

can anyone reccomend a cleaning/waxing processs using zaino esp with z-aio as this would emove a few of the steps into one step.

I am hoping to have a fnish that repells dirt a little better but more importantly is easier to top up or easier to get that just detailed look again without going through the whole process every week as its very time consuming.

what would you use a)for the main bi-monthly detail and b) for topping it up/replenishing it every week or two.

thanks for your help

no - "zaino" has been in uk for a long time (http://www.pro-detailing.co.uk) - i am specificly referring to the introduction of "z-aio" as from what i've read it covers a few prep steps which makes it a competitor for the megs 3 step for instance - i was hoping someone could reccomend how to use it and what with to suit my OP above.

As mentioned in pm; sorry for having not replied to this earlier....

You're right in thinking that Z-AIO removes the 3 step process into one.
AIO has cleaning agent in it and also provides a great finish for a single step product. Also theres a good degree of protection afforded to your paint by Z-AIO... That said you should really follow-up AIO with either of the two dedicated sealants namely Z2-Pro or Z5-Pro, these will drastically improve the finish and 'slickness' of the paint. AIO is the perfect pre-treatment to either of these and negates the need for Z-1.

Obviously this involves an extra process and more outlay on the sealant and the Z-FX additive, but either of these sealants go absolutely miles, on my E30 M3 I can get over 30 coats from an 8oz bottle of either and the Z-FX will 'activate at least 32oz of any Zaino sealant, even if you put in the maximum recommended number of drops every time (which is rarely neccessary in all honesty)

You also mentioned ease of subsequent cleaning - The slickness Zaino sealant give your paint is profound and a massive help towards stopping dirt and debris from adhering to the paint, this makes it easier to clean.

This brings me on to the sealants real party pieces; One thing that always amazes me is the level of gloss and the standard of the finish which is retained after several washes with Z-7 Show Car Wash, it literally looks as good as the day it was done with minimal effort and no re-application of sealant for months. This effect is even better if, after washing you use either of the two quick detailers, Z-6 to remove water spots or Z-8 to do this and actively top-up the protection. Z-8 really is an astonishingly effective product and well worth it's not inconsiderable price tag.

As you can see I've mentioned 5 or 6 products now but in real terms you'd need a QD spray and a shampoo with ANY protection system to wash effectively without removing the protective layers...

To sum up you'll be impressed with AIO, and the other products obviously require further outlay. Trust me though, you are getting something special for that extra money; I spent $11,000 on the stuff - that's how much I believe in it and I'm sure you'll have seen what Jon acheives with it...

Hope that helps - Nick

thanks, i "think" i'm more clued in now, but to clarify:

for the major detail:
z7
z-aio
z5+zfx

for the weekly top up:
z7
z8

have i got it right? maybe a claybar after the z7 on the major detail?
sorry for the what might seem a stupid question but is there no need for waxes with zaino products? just different polishes?

thanks folks

Hi mate - that's pretty much spot on I would do:

Major detail - Fairly liquid (to degrease there's no harm in doing this occasionally) Z-18 Clay with Z-7 solution as a lube (so much cheaper than a qd spray in hot weather) Z-AIO, Z5-Pro+Z-FX, Z-8 wipe-down

Maintainance top up - Just Z-7 then Z-8 Wipedown.

Regarding waxes, all the wax application will do is provide an extra sacrificial layer, if your paint is prepped right, Waxing will do NOTHING for the finish, except maybe change the stark Zaino refelections to more of a glow. Waxing after sealant application is a continual source of debate, a decision I put purely down to personal preference...

Be sure to apply and remove ALL products with a very high quality microfibre applicator or cloth as appropriate.

Hope that helps

Best regards - Nick.
