I've just finished rubbing down a set of 5 BBS's by hand and my mate is etch priming and then painting them for me and while I'm looking forward to getting them finished and the feeling of satisfaction knowing that I did some of the work myself I'm never doing it again, ever

I started on the first one of a set a few days ago.

I did all 5 of mine.....

Cleaned them up with celilose thinner's with an old tooth brush, took a very painstackingly long time  ...

Image

Sprayed them with thick primer paint, light sand back with 600 wet'n'dry.
Haven't got a photo of when i covered the centre and painted the rim for some un-none reason :? but here's the other's.......4 of the wheel's are sprayed with paint from the local AutoCare :D

And the finished article after laquer

easiest way.... get em shot blasted or acid dipped to remove old paint , then powder coat em....trust me , with all the time and money you would spend on paint etc , the above will cost you about Ԛ£25.00 per wheel.

cheers

Have you got any pics of powdercoated BBS? I know someone who does powder coating professionally but I'm not sure it would look right on alloys?

edit: what about white powder coating to go with my white touring? :)

Which paint do you use for silver?
Can you do this with spray cans and how long will it last?
What laquer do you use?

Angle grinder with a sanding flap disc.

Removes Aluminium very quickly though so be careful.
