Hi

My lecy hood seems to catch on the passenger side when opening and closing, the hood cover lifts and just catches the frame, wondered if anyone else has this or what steps you take to lube yours up ! as I know its an expensive job to sort when it goes, so im trying to be a bit proactive 8)

cheers

Catches but very minimal! I have had all sorts on the "Joints"
Spary grease, real grease....WD40.

Anything really that will keep it "Lubed"

as steve says lubricate wel but most important is to give it a push whilst it is working ,this saves putting strain on the motor casing which is the weak link, but by the sound of it yours needs a bit of adjustment

Sounds like you need to adjust the length of the rods that connect to the main motor under hood cover on the drivers side. Alternatively I have found when you press the dashboard hood switch to lift the back part of the hood, just as the rear part of the hood stops moving and before the hood flap cover starts to lift, release the dash button for the hood and then press it again. You will notice that the rear part of the hood moves slightly move and hence the hood cover should come up without catching the rear part of the hood frame.
