thanks for all the advice here

however i still have a few questions

going to order the PC in the next few weeks and have been advised to purchase the following while i'm at it...

all sonus stuff:

6" backing plate
2 x sfx yellow
2 x sfx white
1 x blue

3.5" backing plate
4" spot pads in yellow, white and blue

including the PC and delivery and a 10% discount this comes to

Ԛ£150 approx

still need to buy transformer and plug etc which is another Ԛ£40

also

my car is not in great condition, it comes up well with a coat of Megs gold class but when that fades and shes just washed, the paint looks very dull and really rather poor.

i'm going to order the zaino kit you suggested from ACP but was wondering if i should get a clay bar aswell? or will the ZPC with a PC do enough without claying before hand?

as always your comments and advice are much appreciated

Autopia mate. From USA, so will need transformer, plug and extension cable from screw fix, approx Ԛ£46 inc. delivery.

sorry its took me time to get back to you

well imho the smaller backing plate and pads are not worth the extra
you can do all you want with the other pads

clay is amazing stuff
in effect you dont need the clay to prep the car but..... clay will remove allsorts of stuff

once car is prepped and polished etc then bird crap,tar,treesap etc etc will appear and then you will need the clay as it will remove it without removing laquer/paint as an abrasive will

clay is cetainly worth getting
it removes all you can see and lots that you cant

were did you get that deal from please? i might want this

and if you do get it please please please use omething other than autoglym as you will not to the prepped surface justice by using it

look at it like this
you will still apply the different product and take it off so there is no extra work involved
i guaruntee both application and removal will be easier and the finish you get will blow autoglym out of the water

if you are going to go to the effort of properly prepping your paint surface and even with a porter it is still a lot of work initially to remove all blemishes and contaminants then at least use a product that will firstly make life easier and give you abetter finish
