My cabby has ,before I got it, but in the not too distant past ,been retrimmed in a non- original colour I can best describe as buttermilk - although I think it doesnt shriek non- original to the uneducated

Now I am lazy and ageing fast and I want to clean it without a lot of effort- it's not badly dirty and not badly ingrained

Is there a product which deosn't require effort and is pretty well wipe on wipe off?

You could try Gliptone cleaner and conditioner.

+1 for Gliptone, in my case though as the leather was sun dried in places, it took about ten applications to get the leather to soften, was worth it in the end though :D plus it smells great inside the car now.

I just bought some Simoniz wipes for my cloth seats (went to Asda on a Zone tip-off about Carplan stuff, but my local Asda doesn't sell it :x ) which work pretty well. They do them for leather, too, at the budget- breaking cost of £3.50. Got to be worth trying :D
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Clean leather before adding any product. 2 drops of washing up liquid (two drops only per a couple of litres) to clean, then liquid leather to treat.

I've been treating my seats since Tuesday with Autoglym leather treatment/food stuff, 'painting' on a coat then letting it soak in. Wish I spent more time hunting down 'Liquid Leather' as its taking ages. Thankfully I have a spare touring interior of the sports variety.

Could be worth noting that Halfords are doing 3 for 2 on all car cleaning chemicals atm.
