how to prevent a damp e30 over winter
Moderator: martauto
this has probably been posted before but heyho.
if its stored in a garage over winter we all know it gets damp in there so what i do to stop the damp is a opened bag of rice on each seat as it collects moisture and little de-humidifier bags (homebase etc) dotted around and to stop the mank stench a washing up bowl half filled with coal.this all might sound ridiculous but it works.and if you have a window open a little aswell this also helps.also to keep spiders and insects out a box of conkers does the trick.it works the same way as cats and oranges, they hate the smell.oh yeah and one last thing im not drunk or mad(well maybe a little, aren't all e30 owners)

I heard white vinegar in a bowl or bicarbonate of soda can help get rid of bad smells if left in the car overnight

Get a cheap dehumidifier from B and Q (mine was about 20 quid) and then leave it plugged in the car for a few hours. I also did the boot. There was an impressive amount of water collected in the reservoir.

Simply continue to drive your E30 on a daily basis. It's a car, not a toy
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is
