Over spray on door seals

Probably been asked a thousand times but what is the best method of removing overspray from door seals?
'83 Bronzit 323i (mmmm, chrome)

Try scrubbing at it with 'scotch bright' or if you can get them Vileda active wave sponge

All that time and effort though, damage the seal in the process etc - just get a new seal they don't cost much!
