what colour waxoil
Moderator: martauto
im going to be waxoiling the underside of my car soon with a proper waxoil gun and compressor, i thought about using the black one to make it look tidy underneath but this now seems to me that it may look like im trying to hide a multitude of sins which im not. so do i use the clear stuff or black

On a light coloured car, I'd go for the clear stuff as black will stain badly if you accidentally overspray it, and the stuff tends to run all over the place in hot weather so could make a mess of your driveway too.

Mine is black bodger and i put a full tin on the underside every year, empty a old schults can, clean it out with thiners/petrol,then fill the can with wax oil and spray the underside till its running off.

i stripped everything out to get a better coat under everything, exhaust, gearbox, diff, prop, plastic inner arches etc and also removed my tech2 cills to coat under them. should last a while now.

Personally I'd go clear. The blacks an absolute nightmare when your working on it. The guy who had mine before me absolutely caked the thing in it and it looked shit and you couldn't touch a thing without getting covered. I stripped the lot off and started again!
Just a light smattering of clear in all the right places is all thats needed.
