i want to remove the swirl marks on there and i have one of them car polishers you see in argos.

i only plan to do the bonnet and roof but whats the best product to use?

when cleaning my lachs silber touring, i usually use supermarket shampoo, shammy off, them use megs step two to polish and then megs nxt gen wax.

One of the best Kits about - Megs G220

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing ... at_68.html

Recommended Polishes for German Paints
Megs 80 and 83

Menzerna

Important - Dont forget to Clay Bar after washing, As a rule Wash , Clay Bar, Wash, machine polish and wax.
Depending on how bad the swirls are you may need to polish your car a couple of times.

Also if your new to Machining best bet is to get a scrap panel and practice your skills on that first before you take the machine to your car. Where abouts in the country are you?

Don;t bother with the 'Argos' crap. Waste of money and poor results.

The Megs g220 is very safe to use and is not aggressive as some people make out. So long as the pad is well spritzed with lube and there's plenty of polish you'll be fine. Also you must let the machine work under its own weight. Megs designed this for amateur Detailers alike.

The Megs 80 and 83 I believe can be used by hand, but will take considerable time to 'Break down' The Menzerna Polishes are designed to be used with the G220 or a Professional rotary.

Once you've used one you'll never go back to hand polishing again. I appreciate that they are not cheap, but the results are dazzling. Trust me, I've been using one now for over a year on various cars and have given my Sport a couple of hits using the Menzerna stuff and the finish is truly amazing.

I've attached some pics of my panels
