am after an amp to amp my new speakers im not after the best amp in the world but something to liven the speakers up a bit and give better quality

ive got kenwood 6x9 in rear and infinity components in the front ???

What Are your thoughts on it???

Is JBL Good???

Would be perfect to 'liven up' your main speakers dude, more than the head unit power and not too much that it blows the crap outta your speakers, JBL sound pretty good too as a bonus :D

jbl are a good budget amp but for a few clams more i would have gone for an alpine v12

bought a JBL4060 a few weeks ago, was about £90 I think. Sounds alright, does the job

would the amp be ok mounted verticlly, iirc some can overheat mounted like that :?

ideally amps should be mounted flat as the heat sinks are on the top, but if you mount it vertically it should not be too bad so long as there is enough free air in front of the thing to allow the heat to dissapate. with the GTO one you will see the heat sinks (they are the metal fins on each side of the ''window''). mount the thing so they are also vertical (i.e with the speaker wires either facing up or down, NOT to the side)

is that clear????

I forgot to put the inline fuse in that came with wireing kit :cry:

would it be ok without as there is some fuses in the actuall unit :?

better off installing the inline fuse from the battery live, you've probably seen the size of the fuse, they are massive and will stop any serious problems if you were to get a short in the power lead running through the car, which could cause a nasty fire if there is no fuse protection.

and get rid of the wafer thin speaker wire going to the rears, weakest link in the chain. never been a fan of scotch blocks either winkeye

yer when i sort out the wireing etc i will take the scotch blocks off and put new wire in. i was just rushing to put it in near the end coz it was snowing :cry: sounds good :D
