Now then, over the past few weeks iv acumulated an array of hifi speaker drivers in various different colours (not intentionally for the car but heyho) My question is what colour do i go for?? Iv got yellow woven fibregalss, normal black polypropylene, or white cones which can be lit from behind, which do people reckon would look best?
Wanted: Any old component speakers, complete or separate parts, let me know what you got

I'd always go with black...unless you're building a show install.

ive tried them all at home on a test rig with fixed x-overs and they all sound very similar TBH, was thinking black for stealthy factory look, or the white with subtl red lighting from behind, not too showy just 'lit' i think the yellows have been ruled out now i think about it, wouldnt match anything in the car lol, any more opinions anyone???

didnt work
anyways, there will be two 5.25" midbass at the bottom (where the pocket is) and one silk dome tweeter in each front door, single 5.25" midbass and tweeter in the rear doors, and 4 x 4" midbass across the rears where the roller blind is with 2 more tweeters facing out the boot mounted to original side pods. Why do you ask?

Cliffy: As much as would love a set of those, i cannot afford them
most of my stuff has come from secondhand, high-end home hifi speakers, like wharfedales, pioneers, and B+W. Just need to choose a colour lol. Im in two minds really because i do like a bit of show to my ICE but on the other hand i dont want it to stick out so much that it attracts the local pikeys lol. Got black stealthy looking or white with red lighting from behind the cones
to choose from

oh dident know you where using home audio speakers, there may be a problem there as home speakers tend to run around 8 ohm's and car speakers should run at 4 ohm's (i think) i know someone who did this themselves and the quality was absolute crap, plus you risk damaging your speakers
(someone with more knowledge please feel free to step in as im a bit over my head now)
hope that helps

That wont be a problem because my speaker cones are either 4 ohm already or can be wired to show between 3-4 ohm load to the amplifier ie: two 8 ohm cones wired in paralell = 4ohm total
and as i said, they are from high end stuff and the principle between car and home speakers is the same, just a car has the doors for an enclosure lol
