infinity 6.5" reference 6520cs 2-way components in the front and my mutant sub bass box in the rear.
was thinking of powering them all off of a 600w or a 1000w amp or do u think i should run fronts of the head unit and rears of the amp

Whats ur price budget for ur 6x9's??
I would run the front and rear speakers off a amp, In all honesty component speaker never sound as good without a amp as they need that extra power to dot he job correctly.
When u saying powering do u mean sub and speakers or just the speakers??
I'd normally go for a decent 4channel for the speakers and a mono block for the sub

if anything, sub and fronts amped with rear speakers off the headunit, however it will sound better if u buy a 4ch amp and run all the speakers from that and a mono one for the sub like cliffy says, a decent amp with at least 50 watts per channel RMS is what you should look for
