hi there, so i bought some of them brushed rings for my instrument cluster
over a year ago..just sitting here in my desk draw... two things i need to know,
whats the best glue to use to fit the rings...

secondly, whats the fastest and easiest way... i.e how do i remove the instrument cluster.

thirdly, does the lense just clip off??? someone at a yard once told me that its very difficult to get the lense off without breaking it...

any advice? pleeeese...

ive even got the ferarri red model paint that i wanna use to paint the needles red...
possible weekend project...

regards

15 mins mate and the cluster is out and on the back 10 or so screws and apart it comes, the cover is glued and 9 times out of 10 will brake if you try and do it the hard way

The best glue to use is bostic clear adhesive. dont use superglue as the rings will only come loose in about a year.

to remove the cluster follow this link... http://www.lehrmangroup.com/rickard/318SIbattery.html

The plastic cover doesnt 'just clip off'. It is melted to the rest of the cluster. You can remove the clear plastic by CAREFULLY levering it away from the cluster.

no need to remove the 10 screws (actually its 9 but hey!)
You will only need to remove the plastic cover from the front (carefully)

Use a small flat screwdriver
start at the bottom right, next to the code plug and work your way round the edge.
I have found that using a twisting action is best.
