passenger side fender HELP!!!!

hi there
was wondering if someone can tell me, were some of the e30 fenders slightly different?
i got a fender from a scrap yard... i fitted it... and even the panel beater tried.. but it juts
out around 2 or 3 mm too much.. cant seem to get it right... could it be that some of the fenders differed slightly??????

think pre and post face lift are different,

cabs and tin tops are difinately different
