I've got some of the angel eyes you see on ebay, I think they are the depo ones, I removed my original smileys which had 3 connectors connecting to it White, Yellow & Blue, on the angel eyes both units are wired together and then there is a red wire (positive?) and a black wire (negative?), there is also either 1 or 2 connectors similar shape to the 3 connectors before

just wanted to ask anyone whose fitted these before or if they know how to connect them

They fit like normal E30 smiley's

The red wire goes to the battery pos( preferably fused)
The black goes to battery neg
These are the power feed for the relay

The connector from the std sidelights goes into the same connector on the angel eyes
You may only need to fit one of the sidelight plugs( did on mine anyway)

snoops, please clarify what you are doing here, there should be no need for any additional fuses as youe would power the lights fron the original (fused) source, the orignal lights have three power supplies, one for main beam (White/Blue or White and Violet depending on driver or pass side) then there will be a supply for the driving light Yel/blue or Yel / White and finally a supply for the side lights (cannot remeber colour), the angel rings themselves should be powered from the sidelight supply (to red of the rings) and the black can go to the car body

However to answer your fuse question..
fuse depends on the bulb, the wattage of the bulb should be divided by the voltage (12V) thus a 100W bulb will draw about 8.3 amps, so a 10amp fuse will be ok. Remember NEVER install things like this without a fuse, and always put the fuse as close to the power source as possible (i.e. close to the positive of the battery)

if that is unclear let me know

The fuse i was referring to is to be fitted to the red wire mentioned in the 1st post.

This wire is the live feed to the relay(so it switches on/off) that comes as part of the wiring with the angel eyes.

HTH that helps to clear things up a little.

ive checked the lights again and the red wire is already connected to a fuse holder with a 30A fuse in it, theres 2 connections available on the actual angel eyes for each side, 1 on the inside light and 1 on the outside light and then theres one connection available which runs alongside the black + red wires coming of both sides

so the red and black wires go to + & -

that one connection available connects to 1 sidelight connector

and the 2 connectors on each side connect to the main beam and driving lights?

The single connection for the angel eyes connects to one of the original sidelight connectors
The 2 connectors on each side are/should be as per normal E30 headlights(for driving and main beams)
