My M-tech 2 wheel "with the usual wear" arrived today. Unfortunately it seems the usual wear involves being attacked by a chainsaw. Is there anything that will fill/cover these gouges?

If you go to any good car upholstery place they will hand stick a cover for it, go for suade (spelling??) like the M3, of a noce black leather.

I see you have an m tech 1, keep that

I figure it will probably come to that. It'll probably cost more than i paid for the wheel though :x

In the army you are given a pair of f~#ked Boots and given 12 hours to make them shine. I used good old fashioned boot polish. Put plenty of black polish on and dont drive the car for 12 hours. Get a clean cloth and rub it all off. Then get a differnt cloth and polish it. Repeat this process several times. It works great. Just like on shoes. Good luck.

You can buy leather dye in shoe shops that you just paint onto the leather, let it dry and give it some leather conditioner. I did this on mine and it came out very nice. Only downside is that the dye was a gloss black and not matt finish, but that is just a small gripe. It has toned down with use.

Not sure the best way to clean the leather before applying the dye, but I just used a damp cloth(using warm water) so as not to get the leather wet.

C3 are selling brand new M-tech II steering wheels for a very good price, 165gbp iirc.

Their number is 020 8778 0808, I'm afraid they're not online though.

I recover wheels from time to time. When I recondition a wheel such as yours I use leather crack filler, it is similar to a silcone when it drys but you can dye it afterwards.
