Hi,

I have a Sony head unit with 4 pre-outs. 1 input (either disc-changer, iPod or something) & 3 outputs (1 sub, 1 front output & 1 rear output).

I have my iPod hooked up in the input. I've just purchased a disc changer & wanted to get that going. However, there's only one input :?

I was thinking about getting a connection that will allow me to plug in both but let me only use one or the other. Maybe get Maplins to customise me a switch which lets me change inputs?

I am aware of the consequences of this going wrong using no switch or even having them run at the same time.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Any input is much appreciated lol.

Kind regards.

i think sony do a box with a switch type thing, or u could do a extension to under the dash and just connect each device as u want

Your disc changer has to go into the input connection (L+R audio in) and the round bus lead(control lead) needs to be connected as well in order for the changer to work

As Cliffy says, Sony do indeed make an expansion box to allow additional items to be connected, however AFAIK there are actually 2 different versions
1 is for cd or md changers only and the other has an aux input for mp3 players etc
If the £80 ish cost puts you ever so slightly off the idea of fitting a Sony box, then there is an alternative
You could use an RF modulater or a wireless transmitter that's actually made for the I POD

I got the cd changer working. I plugged in the changer cable & connected the phono's into the bus audio in (as that's he only input phono).

How do I get in touch with Sony themselves & get this device?

Thanks Neil & Dave.

lLocal car audio specialist (not halfrauds etc)should be able to get the item for you
You could also try some of the larger internet sites(bassjunkies etc)

Think the item you are after is Xa-c300 source selector
