no, still doing it. I want to say it will be done for early next year, and i think i will have it done for then. But i'm not so sure i will.

So much work, and the hardest parts are done. I basically took on too much. this is a near nut and bolt rebuild, as opposed to jsut bolting in the m30 lump like i probably should have done.

Heres the rear chassis. The spacers on there are still not enough. I actually have one spacer bolted to another to get the correct spacing. Wheels with the correct offset wouldn't need two, only one. These wheels are bk generic types that use a spacer to fit the standard e30, hence the double rear spacer.

no spacer pic.

The double spacer brings the wheel out spot on, although the pic isn't that good.

WOW!!!

With the spacer that just squats right!!!! what are the rims width with out the spacers..?

An what size are the spacers?

Im thinking about gettin these may be in the 18s which are 7.5X18

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/17-LENSO-RS5-WHIT ... dZViewItem

But they are only 7x17...

Will your spacers make it look wide like yours... and im not too sure about the ofset etc.. what do you think... i want that sort of look, or im just going to have to buy bbs splits... but i dont really want to spend that much right know!!!

If these will fit with your spacers ill just get them, and keep the car white too....

Let me know where i can get the spacers from please and the extended bolts!

Thanks for the help!

you could go for bk299's, but beware, the polished rim will flake in 12 months time. Then you can do what i am doing, which is to wet and dry the rim, and lacquer it, giving it a brushed ally look.

Wheels i have are 225/30/18's/

Beware. If you go for 18's there are some considerations.

First. Cheap tyres= tramlining

worn bushes =tramlining.

If you follow the next two steps you will get less tramlining with the 18's, and massivley improved handling than you would with 15's.

fit poly rear trailign arm bushes.

Use gooyear eagle f1 gsd3 tyres. gsd2's are good, but tramline a little more.

Avoid the pirelli garbage most of these ship with. I had at one point the pirelli's on the front, goodyears on the back, and the car would go straight on in a corner. that much difference!!!

if you have cheaper tyres, the car will still be good, and then you can afford to go for a 225/35/18 tyre which is typically a little cheaper.

if you go m3 arches you really should go for 18's unless for some reason yu hate the look, or have another valid reason.

spacers.

go to www.wheel-spacers.co.uk.

get the 2x25mm ones. You will need one set each for the rear, and one set to cover the front. (2 each rear wheel, and 1 at front).

I have had this checked out, and is stable, and strong. You can't have long bolts to do this. The spacers you get will bolt to the hub, and the next spacer to that, and your wheel to that.

These spacers are cast, not ally, as ally would warp or crack, and they have the centreing pieces to hold fast.

i would hazard a guess they would all fit, if you retro fitted an m3 kit to the car. the arches are simply huge. I could fit 20's under there without major mods tbh.

Look up offsets on google, and you should be able to find a diagram of where to measure too and from. the bm's typically need a big offset.

I used to know all these measurements etc, as fitting my 360mm discs and 6 pot calipers is the whole reason i had to fit the m3 kit! they won't fit inside normal 18's without a spacer, and physically impossible inside 17's.

nice job. is this all steel fabrication from sheet steel or genuine panels ? ive always fancied doing this on my touring but it would be a lot more work around the 4 doors.

Have you dropped your car? mine seems to be stupidly slammed by the previous owner

Will the lensos fit? how wide are yours? will i have to go wider than 7.5

the bki's are 7.5j.

i will eventually change these, but they will do for a year or two once its back on the road.

Car is on "home made" suspension. Sounds so bad doesn't it?

basically its a spax psx adjsutable kit (shocks only), on custom paltforms.

Anti roll bars are like lorry ones as well.
