Hi,

I've got 16" ACS wheels on my white iS (Type III I think), they're black spoked with lacquered daimond cut rims.

The rims have done what they normally do, and started corroding under the lacquer. I wanna get 'em refurbed but I dunno what to get done. It's my only car, and I don't really have time for a religious cleaning regime, so I don't really want them bare metal. I was thinking of getting them painted, but I don't want just solid black wheels.

I was thinking I could get 'em gunmetal and black, a la AMG uber-saloon. Or maybe some other colour combo...what do people think?

Why not do the bare metal in sparkle silver and the spokes in a darker silver or anthracite?
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

the polished metal rim shouldnt be laquered but left bare so to avoid water ingress after the inevitable kerbing incidents that you will just as inevitably blame on your wife winkeye . obviously they require more maintainance to keep looking nice and shiny which is why mine are now dull as i cant be bothered buffing things up.

Deffo not gonna get 'em done black with silver rims again...

I used to like 'em, but then I saw that a guy down the road has a Vauxhall Corsa with black/silver rims. Then I saw a Range Rover with 'em...then a Clio earlier this morning.

Time for a change I think!
