I am planning on taking my 316i badge off. I have been told it is glued on and I could take it off myself and to use hot water onthe glue which comes off. Is this true?

Pour hot water over the badge to soften the adhesive.
Take some thick cotton and smear with washing up liquid (acts as a lubricant)
Use a sawing motion to cut through the adhesive.
Remove any remaining adhesive residue with something like Autoglym intensive tar remover.
Polish and seal the paint.

stanley blade. brute force and ignorance. Job jobbed.
(it helps if you're about to rub down and spray the whole car though.. as this method tends to leave a few marks)
