Sub Box for a cab

I am going to put to 10" subs in the boot of my cab. What is the best kind of box (size&shape) to put these babies in??
I'm thinking of a wedge shaped box tucked in the back of the boot so as I can still get my golf clubs in, Any advice/pictures appricated!Thanx

yep a wedge shaped box is the best to save space, and i can still fit my wakeboard in there (true and sounds better then fitting golf clubs in there!!)

You need to size it to suit your sub requirement, this one is 3 cubic feet which is quite a lot, there is a 13inch x 4inch port firing to the side of the box you cannot see.

I do like the look of your box, did you make it yourself? If so have you still got the dimensions? I think the 2 tens I'm putting in will fit in there a treat. Will probally need a bit dividing up between though I think. Not sure to port or not........

make sure you port the box! you'll get a deeper bass response...

i have 2 x 12" subs and i am having trouble with where to put them, as i need some boot space (no not for my golf clubs) any ideas?

also i have been told not to port it... what is the difference anyway?

Just been speaking to my mate about what type of amp I'm going to need to power up these 2 tens. He started on about do you want them wired up in paralell or in series, never mind about proted or not ported!!

I think most subs work better in a non ported box, but apparently it depends what kind of music you listen to. Think groups like Abba and dexys midnight runners prefer the ported option!!LoL!

It's not that one or the other gives "more" bass, it's just that porting an enclosure will give you deeper, more resonating bass, whereas a non ported enclosure will give you quicker, punchier bass. Depends on what kind of music you listen to, and also most subs are suited better to a particular type of enclosure.

Howerver I did pick up something about the 2 subs working in time with each other or 1 blowing while the other sucks!

The 10" sub just fits under the roof-box. The sub-enclosure is using the entire width of the boot (it continues behind the amp). I think this will give the cleanest look.

Thats the look i wanted to go for, uses the boot space very well! but i wanted 2 subs instead of one and put the 2 amps i wanted to run in front flat on the floor but in a slim box (so the floors is raised) and clear perspex so you can see the amps...

But stupid me went for 2 x 12" subs and they wont go straigh under

That looks fantastic! You have got a very snug fitting enclosure there. Did you build it yourself??

the series parallel wiring is dependant on what load you want the amp run run at, take a look at www.the12volt.com its got lots of stuff on there which is worth a read. all about car hifi stuff.

Series/Parallel - What TomTom said!!! Changes the load the amp see, which changes the amount of power the amp will put out!! Depends on your amp though - low loads can stress the amp more, cause it to heat up, etc, but can give you more power from the right amp!!

sucking and blowing - guess he's talking about running one of the subs out of phase - swap the + and - on one sub so the cone moves opposite to the other sub. Depends on your setup, box, etc. One will be 'pushing' air (cone moving out) while the other 'pulls' back in (cone moving back in).
