Or does this look good?

Image

It could be done quite easily using golf headlight units butchered a bit (they have a larger diameter) and fitted into the e30 main beams...

So it wouldnt have smileys, the grill would be pretty easy to do by cutting up another one...

Its reminiscent of the old 2002... but is it just silly on an e30?

:?

A touch of the old school, reminds me of an e21 315 I used to own ( not the one in the pic) It'll look better without the brows IMO

Yes you are mental! It just looks tooo 'bare' in between the lights to me. If they could be moved a few cm closer in it would look better.

Whatever floats your boat munky.....

hmm... I'm not going to do it, was just playing around in p-shop, but I do quite like it... I think.

Agree that its a bit bare between the lights and the kidneys... nothing an ///M badge or 5 wouldnt fix.

I'm loving the first pic - single lamps with kidney and I also like the last one - twin lamps with no kidney!

Is it wrong to like those ? 8O

Well... apart from the kit... I quite like that. Not keen on the mod to the wings and bonnet though..

It wouldnt be too hard. I've made a custom grill before for my old car, was a pain and very fiddly but not particularly hard...

From this.

Image
(not mine)

To this.

Image
(mine)

And if I hadnt been ripped off by a paintshop (www.konceptz.co.uk, avoid them like the plague), it would have ended up like this.

Image

It was done by cutting every other 'fin' from the grill, then using the spares to build up the shorter ones in the middle where the bulge used to be. Some metal pins were heated up and set into the plastic to hold the new parts in place, then the edges smoothed with filler... not hard, just fiddly.

Would be easier with the e30 grill as I could just butcher another grill for its parts to fill the gap. Then just get a metal worker to sort out the gaps left at the top and bottom of the grill.

Its definitely something to think about with the e30. I want to change the looks of the front but don't want to ruin them.... maybe one day when I get bored of fixing my engine I might do it... watch this space. winkeye
