I've got a 1988 320is that has had a full M3 suspension conversion (with new Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs), so it's got the 5 stud hubs and sits a little lower than standard. Currently I've got standard 15'' M3 BBS's on it, but with 196/65x15 winter tyres (it's the law here in Germany that you have to have winter tyres on during that period).
A mate I work with has an E34 with some 15'' Alpinas on it - he's not bothered about them and says I can have them if I can get a set of replacement wheels for him. No problems there, I'll just sort out some BBS cross spokes for him.
I don't know what size his Alpinas are or what offset they are, but they have got quite a deep dish on them, does anybody know if they will fit, and what offset I should be looking for?
Also, I've seen a set of 8x16 AC Schnitzer 5 spokes (drool
I really don't want to start hacking the bodywork about as I really want to keep the car as standard as possible.
I was thinking either the Alpinas on 205/50x15 tyres or the ACS on 225/45x16s - what presents the best handling combination?
Any comments/thoughts will be gratefully received!
Thanks guys,
Tony
