no need for a second battery, just get your self a 1.5 farad capacitor, that'll keep the juice flowing.
p.s if you dont use that equaliser i'll buy it off you winkeye winkeye

that's debatable, second battery is better.

have a look on talkaudio.co.uk and see what they say about them. If you need one you would be better off with a second battery.

im not disagreing with you on that but for what hes installing it would be fine.

ive got two yellow top batterys and three 2 farad capacitors to run my install. ive done many installs and have always used them. i love my i,c,e comps. even better when i win.

I dont think I've sen an equaliser like that in a car before :?

Starting point, new battery, then 2nd battery, make sure youre using decent cable too otherwise you might as well have thrown the dollars out the window

1st mount the aux battery securely in place
Mount the split charge relay
You'll need 2 inline fuses or circuit breakers.(1 near the relay and one near the 2nd battery)connect the main battery to the relay with a short length of (minimum 4 guage/pref 0 or 2 guage)cable.run a short length on (same guage)cable t the front fuse/circuit breaker.Same for the rear fuse /breaker.Then join up the 2 fuses/breakers with same guage power cable.
For the wiring to "switch over" the relay.1 goes to earth and the live feed is best to come from the alternater.Take it from the terminal/wire that feeds the charging light for the intrument cluster(at the alternater end tho)
That way,the 2 batteries are only physically connected when the engine is running and you won't discharge both batteries when your parked up and using your sound system.
The 2 fuses/breakers are to prevent electrial shorts if tthe charging cable for the 2nd battery ever touches any of the metalwork due to poor placement/routing through the car from front to rear.
