my 318is is currently on a 60/40 drop on apex springs with uprated dampers i currently have 18s on her.

but recently i have been toying with the idea of going smaller rims
eg: bbs rs or borbet a's etc etc

i was wondering can i just swap the wheels over or do i have to get coilovers?

basically a question for you guys with them and also anyone fancy a swap?? winkeye

If you want to fit smaller rims, I can't understand why you'd need to fit different suspension?

People usually consider upgrading to coilovers to fit bigger wheels? If you've got huge wheels under their already then nearer standard stuff is going to fit no problem.

Unless I've mis-understood your question?

depends on the width of the wheel i suppose....if you're going for 9j, then you may need abit of modification!

whats your reasoning for thinking that you need coilovers with smaller wheels? :?

i thought that the majority of people with smaller wheels needed coilovers to go lower?

as im already at a 60/40 drop i dint know if a set of 15/16" wheels would look too small with that drop?

A 60/40 drop would look pretty good with 15" or 16" wheels - mines got a 60mm drop on the front on 16's and looks really nice - there are pictures in the photo gallery somewhere? Though I think they messed up the springs on the back - its nowhere near the 60mm they claim.

People do mention anything lower then 40mm will also cause problems with tyre wear etc? But then there are a few people running huge drops using lower springs.

As the wheels fit, the best advice would be to pick some new wheels up and try them? You can always lower later

Try this link: http://www.seajays.org.uk/postage/index.cfm
I use it all the time for selling on ebay.

I also use this service quite a bit - never had a problem. I wrapped an exhaust back box in bubble wrap (and lots of it), and they collected it form me.
