Decent speakers for standard holes?

Hi lads,
can anyone tell me what the best speakers are to fit into the standard holes? Im not after window rattling stuff i just want to improve on the terrible original ones. There seems to be a few about for roughly the same price but i dont have much of a clue, ive never really been into this area. I have a Kenwood head unit but nothing fancy and no amps or anything.

well i changed mine all round with infinity's front and back, i was amazed by the sound quality for little money as like you i just wanted crisp good sound and had no intention of fitting a bass bin or amp. let me find the link to what i put in mine..... brb

i can only recomend what i have and i have to say they are pretty good all through the range. am sure you will get a few more suggetions.

How are you getting on with yours Daz? made any choices yet mate?

got hold of 4 5,25s mac audio very cheap

so gonna stick a pair of them up front

and still not sure for the rear yet

bit pi**ed off as courier is 3days late with some stuff for me so waiting now

pain in the ass about the courier. mac audio are pretty good mate. Am sure you will get that rear sorted mate, i wanna see a nice neat and tidy job when ya finished!

well hopefully i can get started in the next day or so when pforce get my stuff here

gotta get hold of some accoustic cloth next

its gonna be a 2 stage install, firstly quick fix to get some tunes in car
then i,ll get it all tidied up over the next couple weeks

shelf is my main priority at the moment

Are the speakers in the back bigger, or are you just making these fit? I just presumed they were all the same size.
