Got a spare kidney grillle today for a couple of quid. Just wondering how everyone prepared them, did you remove the silver part from the black grille part, and which black matches the grille best as i don't really want to spray all of it.

Cheers.

Hi when i sprayed mine i sprayed all the grills along the front because after i sprayed the grill it looked odd with the grills around the lights. i used hammerite satin black.
could you tell me how to get a pic of my car in my sig box?

on my old one, i scrubed down the kidneys with emery and primed them first, 2 coats and then god knows how many light coats till i was sure it wouldnt chip, but then i didnt like it , but because i scrubbed them down to the plastic almost i had no choice but to keep it , (could of got a new set but i was young  ) so.. get a spare so if you change your mind

also, if the plastic grills are old, oxidisation will make them look powdery and whiteish, so a paint job could be just what they need, and then itll all look the same :thumb:

Looks like it's going to be a trip back to the scrappy to get the rest of the grille then.

kevg320ise: go to a free image hosting site and upload the pics you want to use(make sure its not too big) then just copy the one for message boards should start and finish [IGN], include these as well. Then paste it into the signiture box in your account.

Drill out the two rivets holding the chrome parts to the grill, then rub them down. Spray them with Primer first, then just Halford Satin black. Black self-tappers will secure them back in place again... and Hey Presto.

That was supposed to be Jhonno mate, but he never got round to sending me the postage, and i forgot for a week or 2, then it never got sent. This thread reminded me. I said to you though, that i had a spare you could experiment on tho. nevermind, offer was there anyway. :)
