Going to treat myself next week to a set of Toyo T1R`s to go on my car.
Thinking of going for 225/45/16 on the back and 205/45/16 on the front.
Any +/- to fitting these sizes?
Car will be lowered 40mm all round within the next week, any rubbing issues likely on this drop?

Ive been ringing round and manged to get all 4 fully fitted for £284 which i personally think is a fantastic price, next cheapest was £330!
Anyone know anywhere with special offers to save me some money?
Tried the usual Camskill/Black Circles etc.

Any advice welcome :)

To be honest i didnt imagine there to be any rubbing as i think original Alpinas ran 225/45`s on the rear.
Thanks for confirming though :)

you shoud try and get 205/50/16 cause the side wall will be a better match for the 225/45/16 and prob cheaper

try this lot:
http://ssl.delti.com/mytires/Tyres.html
£279 for the tyres you want, inc vat and delivery!

i've used them a few times and they're very good.

i got my 215/40/16 toyo proxes t1-r's from them for about £150 a set a year or so ago! £200 a set now.

fitting, valve and balance is £5 per tyre at my local kwik-fit.

mine do look quite small and have a smaller rolling diameter than the originals but i'm a fan of smaller wheels / tyre combos.

i'll have no arch scrubbage like this though! :D

i had arch scrubbage a while ago but that was with 17" Burger Kings which were something odd like ET20, and i did have 225/45's on! it was asking for it really! i promptly cut the hateful things up into tiny pieces and danced around them while i burned them as an apology and offering to the BMW gods!!!.............. well, actually, i sold them and bought 16's!!!! :D

@theo, i'm working on the car all weekend so hopefully it'll be alive again soon! ;) the next shipment of machined parts can't be far off now so i'm sure keri can sort something out soon. i'll let you know as / when i do (if he forgets)

@eko, i didn't twig exactly how cheap your local price was, that's very good indeed! make sure they're not the older ti-s though... a perfectly good tyre but not worth as much now as most are old stock and you won't be able to replace them exactly. i personally think they look better!

@jonno, i've had 195/55/16's (on 16" alpina reps), 215/40/16's(same), 215/45/17's (17" BK's), 225/45/17's (17" BK's) and 205/55/15's (15" BBS) on my car and out of all of them, the 215/40/16 setup handles best without a doubt. it will leave you short geared though, about the same difference as the next shorter ratio diff!

Gareth,they are definately `R`s.
Had 2 205/50/15`s fitted a couple of weeks ago for a mate, again proxy `R`s for £104 all in.
Think its going to be hard to beat there price to be honest so im just going to go with them, hopefully next Thursday.
